Squaw Valley was a bust

After reading about it and calling them to get info about the trails, we drove about a an hour to get to Squaw and ride. When we got there, they tell us all their trails are extreme downhill and require body protection pads and should have full-face helmets, etc.

Since

I had called and explained that we had pre-teen riders and we were looking for beginner/intermediate trails, we were a bit annoyed. So we loaded

everything back up and some of the group headed to the beach and some of us went inn search of some trails. We found a GREAT set of trails not far from Incline Village at a cross-country center. They were great. We ended up above the tree line looking out at the lake. What a view. The trail was empty and peaceful. There was a nice mix of terrain, fun and tough climbs, and some really fun descents. We'll be back!
